The long-term base of the University of Cambridge-Nanjing Science and Technology Innovation Center broke ground in the Jiangbei New Area of Nanjing Tuesday morning.
The Cambridge University-Nanjing Science and Technology Innovation Center is the first cooperative research institution established by the University of Cambridge outside the UK. It is also a landmark project for the construction of the Independent Innovation Pilot Zone of the Jiangbei New Area.
The Cambridge University-Nanjing Science and Technology Innovation Center will be dedicated to integrating the high-end research system and expert team of Cambridge University, working with local Chinese research institutes and experts to effectively link international innovation resources with the needs of Nanjing and Jiangbei New Area, and comprehensively enhance the innovation and conversion efficiency of the regional technology.
The long-term base of the Cambridge University-Nanjing Science and Technology Innovation Center will build a bridge for Cambridge and China, and Cambridge and Nanjing to strengthen the cooperation for development and win-win.
Present at the ground-breaking ceremony were Stephen Toope, Vice Chancellor of the University of Cambridge, Zhang Jinghua, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and Secretary of the Nanjing Municipal Party Committee and Secretary of the Party Working Committee of Jiangbei New Area, and Vice Governor Ma Qiulin.
